During regular PC use yesterday, my Dell S2440L suddenly changed color. Blacks appear white, and whites appear gray. Other colors are mostly washed out (red appears cyan, green appears magenta, blue appears yellow). I suspect that the issue is with the monitor and not my PC since only this one monitor is affected, and the same color behavior is exhibited on the "no signal" screen when an HDMI cable is not connected. Are there any potential fixes for this issue? I have attached a comparison between my two monitors from my desktop and from an image of red, green and blue.

Are there any potential fixes for this issue?

This is hardware failure and if you have warranty left, RMA your monitor. If not, buy a new one and scrap the old one.

As far as what died within your monitor - hard to tell. And even harder to find replacement component and switch it out, to "fix" the monitor. Also, many monitors aren't designed to be "repaired", meaning that the plastic bezels are glued together and you'd be breaking the plastic when trying to open up the monitor.
In the end, trying to "fix" the monitor is far more of a hassle than it is worth it.
