Have problem with above router. We have the following wireless in our house: 3 Nooks,1 Fire,2 Roku Sticks,2 smart phones,1 Apple I pod and 2 wired PC's. When some of these wireless items are being used ,when I use my PC it is so SLOW ,I will shut off the WiFI then the PC is back to normal.Any suggestions on problems above. Netgear had 90 days free support, did not know that and put up with this more than 90 days,Am not going to pay a bunch of money for their help. I see where I can change the channels on the genie but do not how what it do ,it is in automatic. IS there any way I can wire direct the 2 pc's without going thru the Neatgear WIFI Router??Not real computer savoy,69 and do not know a lot about this type set up.

The easiest way is to look at the bill. It will usually have the speed you are paying for documented. It might be 3Mb down/1Mb up or 50Mb down/10Mb up, etc..

Turn off QOS priority service on your router. What's happening is all your wifi devices are just stealing all your bandwidth which is why your computer is being allocated so little speed. They're being prioritized to your PC. Turn off QOS on your PC in your network adapter settings, turn off the setting in your router (192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 or linksysmartwifi.com).

QOS is Quality of Service and iPods do not have this functionality meaning that they take a LOT of your router's power because your router can't figure out how much data to dedicate to it.
