NEC 1760V or NX?

This is my first time, so be gentle.

I am thinking of getting an NEC 1760 series monitor, but I cannot decide between the 1760V or NX. Near as I can tell, the main difference is a swivel and height adjustment on the NX and not the V, as well as DVI connection. The height and swivel I can live without, but I am not sure about the DVI connection.

I want this monitor to last for a while (I want anything that costs over $400 to last a while), so I am not sure if I should spring for the 1760NX, or just go with the 1760V. Basically I am asking if the DVI connection is worth the extra money, or will I be fine with an analog connection for the next few years?

Thanks in advance.

Jeff

Get the DVI version if the price difference between the two is not big and your graphics card has a DVI port as well. It would save you a lot of time tweaking the display settings.

I checked the prices this morning at Newegg.

NEC 1760V-BK $403.00
NEC 1760NX-BK $475.00

My graphics card does have the DVI. Will most cards in the future has this feature? I's assume so, but one never knows...

Thanks again.

Yes, most nicer video cards will have DVI output. Though I imagine both analog and DVI will be available for a long while. I don't think it is worth the extra $75 for the monitor. I think Tom said the Hitachi equivalent displayed a broader range of colors in analog anyway.

Check to see if the unit comes with a DVI video cable. I do not believe the LCD1760NX comes with a DVI cable so you will need to purchase one separately.
