Anyone own this monitor?After about 5 weeks now of looking and reading about LCDs this thing is looking like a winner to me.Im pretty much 70% games,20% internet surfing,10 watching movies and fansubs.I also smoke so the gloss coating helps alot.

If anyone has some links to new stuff comming out in 2006 that would be a big help too.

This is a very new monitor, so I expect people might not have seen it yet. It's from NEC's new line of LCD's, should be good, though I'd be more excited about their 20" panel.

Yes mate I own one, and the 1970GX model, and i can say that they are the same Monitor with the execption of the stand. The 90GX2 claims to be a 4ms monitor but its gray - gray . The true reponse time is 8ms. They are both brilliant monitors. The best Ive seen yet. ( I do run a computer business too ! ) Recommended !

I've had this monitor for about 2 weeks now & LOVE it. The only thing is making sure it's away from direct light, the glossy screen CAN produce glare, but for me that's an ok sacrifice in return for the great brightness, crisp colors, and fantastic video....

In use, the reflections are almost ZERO. (Exception would be if you did have poor lighting AND what you are viewing has a large, mostly solid dark color.... like a dark scene in a game or movie. But if you're a gamer or movie watcher, can't you move the screen or turn out the offending light to avoid reflection?) Those who claim "really bad glare" don't know what they're talking about. If in where you intend to use it you can control the lighting and/or the orientation of the screen, then the reflection issue truly is zero.

Keep in mind viewing at CC is one of the worst places... lots of overhead fluorescent lights which may be difficult to avoid. If that's the case, try viewing something on a notebook where you can position it to avoid reflection. The Brite screen on a notebook is the same as on the 90GX2.
