Has anyone managed to use NEC Superscript610plus with XP? I've spent a
long time following up leads from googling and it looks like a no-no but
maybe someone found a way - evn just basic text printing................

Thanks

Thanks for the reply.
I had tried the HP route -installed the HPIIP (I assume HPII2P was an error)
and opened a DOS command window. Typed 'copy con test1 > lpt1' then the
cusrsor moved to the line nelow and hung. If I try a normal windows print
via this driver I get a 'paper out' error and assume that the connector pin
signals from the NEC printer are being differently interpreted.

Thanks again
I looked a the 'printfromdos'. My printer is a local printer on a stand
alone pc - according to the above site I shouldn't need to do anything - the
remaining instructions seem to apply to a client pc on a network.

Looking around briefly, I didn't see an XP driver for this printer. It is
doubtful that 95/98 will work. Do you have an XP driver?
Have you tried just a generic text driver to see it the printer is
communicating? (That is if this printer will support text only printing).
