I recently attempted to install an ID-COOLING FROSTFLOW http://www.idcooling.com/Product/detail/id/134/name/FROSTFLOW 120VGA onto my 2080ti.

It was my first time installing such a thing, so I had some troubles, but I resolved most of them. One thing I noticed is that the VRAM heatsinks had a little trouble sticking, and I could do a better job next time. Other than that, the only thing I noticed was that the cooler used two 3-pin power connectors for the cooler itself and a single 4-pin for the big fan, but my board is full of 4-pin slots.

When I had the thing fully installed, my PC turned on, I got flashes of my login screen and desktop, and then it went black. I then reinstalled the base parts of the GPU, and everything worked again.

So, I'm curious as to whether or not I should look into some 3-to-4-pin connectors and if the VRAM heatsinks even being a bit loose can lead to those screen flashes and blackout. Perhaps a combination of the two?
