For the life of me, I cannot get my Dell Dim. 2350 bios to recognize my SATA drives! My PATA drive(C is only 4G, and I have been trying for quite some time to figure out how I can install an OS on one of my other 2 SATA drives. I have tried everything I read about from bios upgrade flashing to slipstreamed SATA driver XP install discs. The only way that I know to install an OS (I have XP discs from Dell) is booting from disc, and have never seen either SATA drive as an "install to" option, nor have I seen any SATA options in BIOS. Maybe my Mobo will never recognize SATA drives?? It is the original Mobo that came with the computer. I have Dim. 2350 w/ 2G RAM added and A02(latest) flashed to my BIOS. C: is 4G Fujitsu PATA drive, F: is WD 120G, G: is WD 1T, D & E are optical drives(E is Lite-On DVD-RW). Also installed NVIDIA GEForce 6200 and Silicon Image SiI 3114 SoftRaid 5 controller to connect E,F and G(all SATA). Running XP Pro currently. Could it have to do with not having F or G formatted, or maybe RAID settings?? ANY help would be very much appreciated!! Thanks in advance...
