need 4 pin cpu power cord

I need a eatx 12v 4 pin cable for my rampage iv black edition motherboard they gave me 2 8 pin connectors with my psu but no 4 pin can I split the 8 pin connector and will it work to power my 4 pin connector on my mobo?
