Need a 4 pin plug from PSU

I have a Corsair CX600M, I have connected it to all components except what I believe the is the one for the PCI cards. It has a female 4 pin slot but the PSU does not come with a cable, not even one that splits from and 8 or 6 to a 4.
What is the best course of action that doesn't involve me buying a new motherboard.
Are there such things as adapters? It should I buy a cable for the PSU?

do you mean a PCI express graphics card ?

some old medium power graphics cards came with a molex to graphics card adaper cable
(often with only yellow & black wires as 5V red wire is not required)

You need to ensure the plug into the graphics card is the correct one

It would help us help you if you gave the exact make & model of Graphics card ?

Do not confuse 12V ATX in 4 or 4+4 or 8 pin versions
(12V power to motherboard )
with PCI Express 12V power connecters

Sorry, it's an ASUS GeForce GTX 760. It has an 8 pin female slot of its own, but I'm not sure whether I need to put a cable into that AND the motherboard, or one of them on its own?

The motherboard has 12V ATX socket in 4 or 8 pin versions, without the power cable to it the PC will not start up

With the graphics card it might start up without the correct power cable connected but the graphics driver will object and may shut the PC down or prevent 3D graphics driver working (depending on model & driver version)

or could burn out the PCI express slot !!

so fit 8 pin PCI E power cable

(ATX 8 pin & PCI E 8 pin plugs are slightly different so can not be wrongly inserted

there are 6 pin to 8 pin PCI E converter cables

but what is important is 12V power rating of PSU, graphics card and CPU

Your GPU needs about 19A (225W)

PSU provides 46A so should be ok according to review

which shows PCI E cable as 6+2 = 8 connecter

ATX 12V will be 4+4 = 8
