Need a brand new video card budget $300

Hi, my video card recently died so I need to buy a new one. My budget is around $300 and the lesser the better 😀 . I'm a gamer and a programmer and I'm one of those people who can look at specs and be amazed by numbers... I don't want to keep doing that. Help would be much appreciated!

Either a gtx 770 or r280x
Both can be had for around 300$. Don't settle for less!

You might try to snag a 770 with the three free game combo before it dries up. Both are solid cards though!

I'm assuming you're in the US.

Get a GTX 760 if you absolutely cannot go beyond $300.

It appears the price of cards has gone up considerably as a result of the bitcoin extravaganza.

The 760 is a really good value for the price (around 250$). The 770s are running at around 320+ at the moment. Depending on what games and resolutions you are playing at, the 760 might be all you really need.

Black Friday/Cyber Monday the 760s were as low as 199$, and I saw 770s going for under 290$ after mail-in rebates. If you are patient you could probably find one at those prices.

Nope. The shortage of 280x has gotten to the point where people who wanted those in the first place, have mostly settled for a 770 instead.

So now they being snapped off the shelves as well, and prices have risen accordingly.
