I currently have a Samsung 1tb SSD but I need more memory. I was thinking of getting two 2tb SSHD. Any suggestion for decent price, perform wells and last long? I was thinking of getting the seagate 2tb SSHD. I was told for SSHD anything higher than 2tb messes up a lot . These are being used for workstation build that requires a lot of storage . Thanks!

the 4TB's have just as good as the 4TB. I'm a WD fan. I have had WAY too many issues with Toshiba drives and have never reccomened them same for seagate unless they are enterprise drives.

just get a single 4TB drive.
is this going to be a boot drive? if not just get a normal HDD. SSHD's honestly don't show a huge difference as all it is a SSD Cashe. Nothing is really "Stored" on the SSD part of it, just the most used 8GB is. If you are someone who uses a lot of different programs and access a lot of different files you won't see a difference. You would be better off getting a Western Digital Black hard drive to what ever size you need and leave the OS and Programs on the 1TB SSD.

It can be faster for loading files that you load all the time. If there will be multiple files accessed all the time then it will always be loading files into the SSD cashe and then get purged from there once they aren't the most used. using it as a boot drive is good as most of the time core window files get put on the SSD part since they are accessed all the time.

I have a 750GB SSHD in my laptop and honestly I never saw much of a different between that and my 250GB WD Black was orginally came with it. I found that using the right defrag program to properly defrag your hard drive is more effecient than a SSHD. But by all means buy one. Won't hurt anything. just I don't think the Hype on them is as good as it really is.

I want to get a 4tb sshd which would be cheaper than getting two 2tb sshd. but i heard 4tb sshd has a higher fail rate than the 2tb. but if the higher fail rate for the 4tb is negligible or minuscule compare to the 2tb i would rather get the 4tb. do you know anything about this?

4tb vs 2tb - nothing in it reliability wise mate but the simple fact is that if a 4tb drive goes down you've lost everything on there.
If you have 2x2tb drives then if one goes down everything on the other one is still safe.
As mentioned paying extra for a sshd hybrid is pointless if it's used as a secondary drive - asxa boot drive they're useful but not for backup data use.

Yeah it's a back up. I have 1tb SSD already . Should I just get a regular 4tb HDD then? Which 4tb hdd do you recommend me getting that is reliable, performs well and will last long ?

Last 2x4tb drives I bought were Toshiba mate.
They've come on leaps & bounds since acquiring western digitals old manufacturing plant.

Was cheaper for me to buy the 4tb canvio external drive & strip the drive out if the casing.

They're fast drives & very very quiet.

i dont wana go through the hassle and stripping the case. I was considering the seagate or the western digitals 4tb. Should i only look for 7200rpm? its fater correct?
