Do you have a recommendation for a good quality 500-650W PSU available in America for less than $80?
Helping a friend build a PC on a budget (~$500). We're buying mostly used parts, but the PSU is one part I'd rather buy new if at all possible.

He's pairing a used Radeon RX 5700 XT with either a Ryzen 5600 or an i5 12400F. Modest goals.
600W will be plenty for this build. 650W-700W are likely excessive and 500W is probably the minimum viable product. His PSU budget is $80 USD max but cheaper is better (closer to 50 or 60).

We're located in the US with access to most major stores/e-tailers (Amazon, Newegg, Bestbuy, B&H, etc) except Microcenter. I'm not making that hour+ drive unless there's a free PSU waiting for me there. What I'll spend in gas alone with negate whatever savings they might offer.

I'm aware of the https://cultists.network/140/psu-tier-list/ PSU cultists tier list but cross referencing every item in the A-C tiers with every store is hell. I would prefer B tier or better.
Is there a better way to find a good cheap PSU?

Nope and 5000 or 6000 series GPUs require a min 750W PSU but I recommend 850W.
$90+Tax at Newegg, but save gas, free shipping: https://www.newegg.com/thermaltake-toughpower-750w-gold-ps-tpd-0750mpcgus-1/p/N82E16817153198
Thanks for taking the time to reply. But Radeon 5000 and 6000 GPUs do not "require" 750W. A 225W or smaller GPU and a 65W CPU will happily run on a 600W PSU as long as it feeds them enough A at 12V. 750W is excessive and 850W would be a waste of money for this use case.

Thanks! This is about what i feared/expected at this price bracket. https://cultists.network/140/psu-tier-list/ rates that one at a "possible/probable C tier," which means probably barely good enough here. I'll put that one in the cart for now while we see if we can't find a B tier PSU on sale somewhere.

Is the cheapest but decent PSU I would recommend based on US prices on US PCPP.
Not really a cheaper way of doing so apart from using price comparison websites perhaps or finding your own supplier.
Nice! A B Tier PSU barely inside the price range. I think we've found our winner. The rebate makes it less appealing, so I'm also considering these C-tier models:
