My friend is looking for a high quality sound card for music editting and play back. He will need to connect the sound card to his home theather system. He does not play game at all. He is welling to spend $500 for the card.

Thanks in advance.

The only choice for this is Sound Blaster Audigy.

I like the other cards for other uses but if your really into the quality of your audio, Audigy.
You can tell the difference between it and the other cards just from listening, at least I can.

If you have a Guitar Center or another large music store nearby, go and see what they have, you should be able to find something.

i have seen an article of the new extigy which seems to be a good sound "box" for musicians.
