Hello, building my gaming pc and I need a 550 watt power supply that is preferably fully modular, please. I'd say no more than 60-70 CAD? If it isn't possible to get a good quality one at this price point I can go a little higher. Thanks in advance
Higher number is a newer version, not necessarily better. You have to be careful with EVGA power supplies, a small difference in name can mean a big difference in quality.
G2 and G3s are very good performing, but the G3 has some issues with protections.
What are your full system specs? We need to know to ensure compatibility. You may not even need 550. Why fully modular, are you replacing the cables? Otherwise semi-modular should be fine.
For $60-70 CAD you’re looking at the Corsair CX450M/CX550M. Next option would be the Cooler Master MasterWatt
Also getting this gpu backplate since I'm going with a dragon white and black themish build:

If you want to use those cables you'll need a PSu that is compatible with them. The Seasonic I posted above will not work with those cables, you'd have to get a set of cables made specifically for that PSU or series.
That Seasonic 620 isn’t good, don’t bother.
There aren’t any quality 550w fully modular power supplies under $100 CAD, otherwise you’re looking at EVGA G2/G3, Focus Plus.
Remember not to mix modular cables. The cable mod you linked should only be used for EVGA G2/G3/P2/T2. Different power supplies have different pinouts.

That Seasonic is just fine, it's an older unit but still good. Go spout your personal crusade against anything group regulated elsewhere as I and many others are getting rather sick of it.
Oh wait I read it wrong LMAO I thought it said g3. Sorry about that. So I guess I'll just get the g2 you linked above. Thanks!
Just a small question: what do the g3 and g2 stuff mean? Does the higher number mean a better quality PSU?

The G3 is a newer version and is slightly smaller, but there are reports the fan can get noisy. So a G2 vs a G3 where the G2 is the same price or less I'd definitely get the G2.
