need a internal hard drive for asus P5QPL-AM mother board

hi;
my hdd gonna fail soon...get many warning messages.. windows tells me to back up and i installed a software HDDlife Pro, it tells zero health etc...
so need to buy a hdd... so which hdd is best suited for asus p5qlp-am motherboard and what i have to check before buy hdd?? wd/ segate
config: intel core2duo 2.8ghz; 4gb ram ; include a graphics card asus hd 5450.
so pls help me with a reply
 
You have an old mainboard, but that does not matter. Any modern SATA HDD will work (even though your mainboard may not be able to utilize its maximum SATA 3.0 speed mode). So just buy a HDD of your liking with respect to your purse and size preferences. Just make sure it is a SATA HDD of the same physical dimensions as your old one (usually 3.5" for desktop drives).

Price per GB is currently lowest for 3TB drives, but you may want to save money and buy a smaller drive. Depending on your Windows version there may be a problem with drives greater than 2 TB, at least if you plan on booting from it. For such large drives, you need an x64 version of Windows and install in UEFI mode. If you want to avoid any such problems, stick with a 2 TB (or smaller) drive.
