Need a laptop for work as a teacher...

I'm a teacher and need a laptop that is suitable for me.

I have an expensive desktop PC at home which I custom built for gaming and all sorts, but I haven't got a clue when it comes to laptops.

I'm not looking for a fancy laptop, and I'm not interested in spending money on features I will not use.

I want a laptop that will get the job done, i.e using Microsoft office, the internet, checking emails etc without being slow.

I want it to have these features:
1080p display
Long battery life
Bluetooth
a dvd/cd drive
Playing videos on the internet.
Video calling.
etc..

Basically, things a teacher would do while at school.

budget is £500/600

How many inches and what does long battery life means, 3hours 4 hours or more ?

If you want to operate laptop on almost full brightness doing moderate workload, without shutting it down for more than 5hours, the only that i can think of are:
T540p and t440s with extended 9cell batteries.
Of course with SSD be it included or bought separately, but that's a little out of your budget.

Best recommendation would be a X260 which is a nice 12.5 inch laptop portable and gets near a full 18+ hours of battery life.
