Hi all,

I posted a few questions in a thread yesterday about a new build. I think it's going to be a nice system, but I haven't determined what MB I'm going to use yet. Here's where I'm at:

i7-13700KF
32GB DDR5 (haven't figured this out yet, any recommendations?)
nVidia 4070, can't wait for this.
Samsung 990 PRO 2TB
Cooler Master v750 Gold PSU

I don't plan to overclock manually, just not interested in tinkering on my own. I am air-cooling with a Noctua D15, and running in a Fractal Torrent Compact, with 2x Noctua A14's on the bottom and 1x Noctua A12 as an exhaust fan.

Any MB recommendations? I'd like to stay at or under $300, if possible. Not sure if there's any real reason to insist on Z790, since I'm not overclocking, or if B760 would be just fine.

Thanks for the help!

B760 with decent VRMs should be alright. Check back when you are actually about to buy, as prices vary a lot.

13700K is only $8 more, no reason not to get the iGPU.

Hi all, bumping this thread as I'm moving forward!

I'm ready to buy a motherboard. I am sticking with the i7-13700K (or KF), 32GB of DDR5-6000, nVidia 4070 FE. I do plan to use a Noctua D15, so I have a large air-cooler. I won't overclock, and I have a fractal torrent compact, with some additional fans on the bottom and for exhaust.

I don't have any strong objections to the Gigabyte board mentioned above (B760 Aorus Elite AX ATX), but it doesn't have integrated Bluetooth, and wanted to ask if it's generally something this group looks for in a MB.

Thanks for the help!

Make sure you request or order the LGA1700 mounting kit for you cooler. $9 on Amazon, but Noctua will send you one if you ask.

That motherboard has Bluetooth 5.3. I can't think of a recent wireless card that doesn't come with bluetooth. Just a protocol over 2.4Ghz WiFi.

Still a decent board for the money.

Entry level Z790 board with 6E and bluetooth.

Can't say I use bluetooth on my gaming system, but it doesn't have wireless at all, I just direct connect to the router a few feet away. I do use a bluetooth keyboard for my TV, but I use the dongle it came with anyway.

I use some logitech wireless mice, but they use a dongle to get that 1ms response time.
