Have been searching for motherboards to use with my fx-6300 on my first build. I want the price to be around 90-130, I will be using a r9 270x with it for gaming. I plan on overclocking further down the line when I buy an aftermarket cpu heat sink. Any ideas on a good motherboard. All help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
BTW I have seen a couple of mobos that interest me but they have like, 50 DOAs and bad reviews and 150-200 good reviews. Are the bad reviews just people that don't know what they are saying or what?

Solution

There will always be a chance of having a bad experience, no certain board always arrives working, but i wouldn't let some bad reviews sway you, it's a sweet board, especially for the price!
The people that get good boards often don't take the time to go write good reviews, since they're busy playing with their new toy, while the people getting lemons have nothing better to do than flame on their failed purchase while they wait for their RMA. So take that into account.

My personal recommendation is an Asus, they make solid boards the pretty much everyone loves, an M5A97 R2.0 is an awesome board for your lower budget, while a M5A99FX Evo R2.0 is a great board closer to your upper budget. Just my thoughs

One of my rigs is a 6300 in a M5A97 R2.0 and it's rock solid, overclocked to 4.0GHz and running super cool and reliable.

Thanks for the help. I feel a little bit more reassured. It does make sense that the people that get a bad mobo are more likely to post reviews than those that had no issues.

Case in point: I just bought parts to build a home server from Newegg a couple weeks ago, i got the whole thing together within a day, and have yet to review a single piece 😛

...i'm off to write some reviews
