Need a motherboard Compatible with GTX 960

Solution

i see that your PC is an HP standard case (all components are from HP), maybe the PSU doesn't give the card enough power so try the card on another computer, if it works then the problem would be in the PSU

strange, the motherboard you have, should run probably check all of your components and try running it again

Everything on my computer works fine with my asus gtx 650ti but as soon as i plug in my 960 it does this in this order

1. Loads the HP Logo where pressing ESC goes to the BIOS Menu

2.Freezes the Display

3. Does a single short beep from the mother board shortly followed by a series of 3 short beeps

then it wont do anything till i switch back to my 650ti

this means the PC failed reading and recognizing the card, so the solution is to install it and try checking the BIOS either i am working on it for a solution

after double checking all the drivers were updated etc it still does the same issue, i go ti the MSI website and they have a driver but i cant install it because it cant detect the hardware.

you should try installing the driver from Geforce here is the link, and if it didn't detect it try the manual setup
http://www.geforce.com/drivers

It says my Driver is up to date and in the text for the driver is says that it supports the new gtx 960[/quotemsg]

So now there is no problem with the driver, give me a minute to think

I dont think its his PSU because I have the same problem, I have the gtx 650 and it works fin but when I put the gtx 960 it does the same thing that happens to him and I have a 600w PSU

Having a similar issue with my Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H 1155 mobo.

I purchased a brand new Evga GTX 960 4GB and a new Evga supernova gold 2 750w PSU.
The display works fine but it freezes at the bios screen and I can only ALT+CTRL+DELETE.
If left it will got to a black screen then reboot after a couple of minutes.

I've tried disconnecting everything leaving only the motherboard and the GPU connected but the same thing happens.
When I put my old GTX 650 or an older GT440 in it works fine. Really stumped as to what the problem can be.

*****Update******

Should have looked at the bleeding obvious and updated my bios! All working now :/
