I know that I am asking for old/outdated technology here but I really need the best available/most recent motherboard that supports the following:

> AM3 socket
> SATA 2 & 3
> DDR2 memory
> Overclocking
> Core unlock feature in BIOS

Can anybody please advise? Your help is much appreciated.

If your trying to make a build out of some old parts you really should just get a system overhaul. That being said with just AM3 your options are going to be limited. I don't know if you can get DDR2 on an AM3 socket as on pcpartpicker.com I couldn't even find a motherboard that supported DDR2. You can try going to a mom&pop shop and see if they have what your looking for but I doubt they will.... Maybe there is just something i'm missing

Hello,

There is no AM3 motherboard supporting DDR2. It exists though AM2+ boards supporting DDR2 and DDR3 (but not at the same time and not for all CPUs):

http://www.asrock.com/mb/nvidia/n68c-s%20ucc/

Supports UCC, but has only SATA2.

Well basically I am running on ASROCK K10N78FullHD-hSLI R3.0 which supports AM3.

Are there any ASUS, Gigabyte or MSI boards that match this profile?

Thank you

It does not mention any support for AM3 even on their official page for the motherboard: http://www.asrock.com/mb/NVIDIA/K10N78FullHD-hSLI%20R3.0/ . If you want an AM2/AM2+ socket motherboard im sure you could find many of them for cheap.

In your original post you said an AM3 board; your board is an AM2/AM2+ which supports AM3 CPUs, but with downgraded performance (HT link especially, which works at 2000/2600 MT/s for AM2+ boards and 4000MT/s for AM3 boards).

Please check this:

It has a big list with motherboards supporting core unlocking, you just have to find the motherboard that suits you best.
