Hello, after building my own PC this year, my Dad has said I can build his PC next year since his current one finds it difficult to load just google.

I have everything planned out so far however the last thing I need is a motherboard, which seems quite simple but I need a motherboard which has socket type LGA1151 that will work with the Intel Core i5 6500 (my current one which is in my own PC right now which I will be upgraded with the Intel Core i7 7700K in the following list. It also needs to work with the PCI-E x1 (i believe) network adapter (which I already own and is unopened) which is also shown in the list, and finally, it needs to have a PCI-E x16 slot for a GPU as I will be giving my Dad my current one (RX 480 with dual fans from Radeon Saphire) if I ever get an upgrade (highly likely).

List: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/GX26tJ

Please tell me if I have gotten anything wrong or if there is any changes worth noting (such as an error I had made)

Thank you!

You can but you will have to use your old cpu to update the bios. Looks like the same motherboard isn't for sale but here is one nearly the same.

You need a cooler for the k series as they dont come with stock cooler. Also with the Z270 get faster RAM.

I'm sorry I forgot to mention that I am trying to stay on a budget and would prefer to keep the PSU the same as it is slightly cheaper. Also, does it matter that my current motherboard in my own PC has a chipset of H170 whereas the one you linked has a chipset of Z270? Like, will I still be able to use the new i7 on my GA-H170M-D3H motherboard and the i5 on the motherboard you linked?

The 100 series may not come with a bios supporting kabylake. IE a 170H doesn't have a bios out of box supporting the 7700K. You can update the bios tho with your CPU but you will need extra thermal paste. The faster RAM also is good for Z270 as it can use much higher speeds.

To stop the haste of updating it, would it be possible to find what I'm needing but with the same H170 chipset that both the i5 and i7 will work with as well as having the PCI-Ex1 and PCI-Ex16?

Sorry for all the questions but I really need to be careful when spending so much money.
