Hello i have a asus rog crosshair v motherboard and my amd fx8150 recently broke down and I’m looking to buy a new cpu is there any recommendations ik can get for maybe a similar speed to 8cores@ 4ghz?

You already have one of the best CPUs for that socket and anything up from it wouldnt yeild any worth while performance. If you want something new you will need a new mobo and DDR4 RAM. For a new build something like this

You could even look for a used Ryzen 1600 or 2600 which should be in the 60-100 USD range and buy a cheap ASRock B450 motherboard which are around 50-70 USD, cheaper if you looked on the used market.

Could you maybe provide a budget? And also indicate what your build is mainly used for? If it's for Gaming, can you also mention your GPU model.

If you want to just replace it, then yes, yo should be able to find a FX 8150 quite cheap. I wouldnt spend more tne 20 or 30 USD on one though, its an old very out of date CPU.

How do you know the CPU broke. It is rare for a CPU to break unless it has physical damage.

You could just buy an identical replacement on eBay. You aren't going to find any new CPUs made for such and old socket.
