Hey,

My HD 6950 burned out last night, so I need a new graphics card. My processor could be a bottleneck but I was planning to upgrade that later this year.

So I did some research and those two are around the same price, the gtx 970 and the R9 390. The gtx can be 20 euro cheaper at times. But they are both between 350 - 372 euro's. They both perform almost equal except that you have more vram with the R9 390.

But I have been thinking if its worth to pay the 50 euro's more for those two instead of a R9 290. I read these are not far behind the R9 390.

So im not sure which one to buy... and the price difference between all the brands. I could get a VTX3D for like 40 euro less then a MSI R9 390.

Thanks in advance,

And no fan boy wars plz I had both nvidia and ati in the past and I have had problems with both.

depends on if your power supply can handle a 390

So I have decided to go for the R9 390... the only thing now bothering me is what cooler to get. The most interesting ones seems to be the sapphire nitro for 357, the MSI gaming for 372, gigabyte G1 for 367 and the powercolor PCS+ for 370. The price difference is so minimal I can't choose between them which one got the better cooler/components?
