Hey guys. So I bought an AMD R9 290x a couple of years ago, but the flaw finally came up in that it has cooling issues. It's actually so bad that my computer freezes then gets a BSOD EVEN in idle where I'm doing nothing. I took it to a computer repair shop and they said that when they put the GPU under a stress test that it failed (and of course they tested the CPU, RAM, etc.) I know some computer shops can't be trusted, but I know these guys and they're trustworthy. I also don't have time to do it myself since I'm not home for 90% of the year. Anyway I would agree that whenever I play video games it crashes much more often and the problem seems to get progressively worse. He also said that it maybe a good idea to just buy a completely new set-up and build it again. I don't know I'm gonna do that unless you guys think it maybe a good idea.
With that do you guys have any recommendations as to what graphics card I should buy? I'm not looking for a Titan or 1080. I just need a graphics card under $350 that can play games fairly well. I'm not as hardcore as I use to be and I don't use my desktop for most of the year since I'm out at school and I can't bring my set-up.
My set-up:
-Intel core i5 i5 6500
-Gigabyte H170DM-D3H-GSM-CF
-8GB Corsair Vengeance
-AMD R9 290x
