Question Need a New Laptop and Like some Recommendations plaease

My core requirements for 2 laptops.
SSD and HDD (512 SSD plus 1TB min spinner) I have a 2TB spinner I can put in but warranty might be voided so willing to buy new
17" IPS or better display, backlit keyboard
Win 10 home or pro
Run photoshop and Lightroom. I often do 500 plus raw image imports from an SD card
At least one high speed USB port

Asus and Acer seem to offer the most options that I can find so far

Battery life or weight are not driving requirements but nice to have. Laptops will mostly stay at home or close

Do you have a budget?
Look at the Lenovo Thinkpad units.
They are of high quality.

I do not think doing so invalidates any warranty.

Thanks for your input. That configurator doesn't show SSD and HD sizes. Hard to tell if it has both. Does weird things with OS too. Select win10 and not an option when I go to configurator

Trying to stay under $1500 and I want 2. I am looking at legion series

I don't know if you know but I have been shopping on newegg.com since they have best feature filters I have found. Descriptions there say it has a Micro SD reader, the Lenovo site shows regular sized SD. It's not a show stopper but micro doesn't help me much

The legion series are designed for gamers.
For your use, I think you would do better with a workstation like the P17 series.
They are designed to be user upgraded. Warranty is not impacted.
In particular, look at the UHD ips screens, not the lower quality but faster FHD displays which appeal to gamers.
17.3" UHD (3840 x 2160) IPS, anti-glare with Dolby Vision™, HDR 400, 500 nits is what you want.

That is when all threads are 100% busy. The single thread rating is 3101.
Single thread rating impacts the desktop quickness and many apps.
You may want to upgrade a touch to the I7-11800H with 16 threads and a rating of 21241/3129. It is a tad stronger than the ryzen 4800H in your link.

I heard one reviewer on on this forum say the Legion is heads above the thinkpad for build quality.
When I use the newegg selection tool with my min requirements (17" IPS screen, dual drives and win 10) the Lenovo legend stands out. What am I missing?
I currently have a 4+ year old HP envy with 512 SSD, 2TB spinner (both have been upgraded) with a 4 core Intel but it's falling apart, keyboard failing, taped together case... Similar for wife's laptop with a less memory and storage

The micro vs regular SD slot is kind of a big deal to me. Plan to talk to Lenovo today

Good plan to talk to a Lenovo rep.
If you know a Lenovo or IBM friend(active or retired), they can get you a discount.
I think the Lenovo reps are authorized to offer a similar discount and they are motivated to make sales.

I have been a newegg customer for a long time.
The unit you listed is sold and shipped by by Rockystone .
They may or may not be good, IDK.
I prefer to buy from newegg(or amazon) when the product is sold and shipped from inventory directly.

Regardless, Lenovo seems to have sales all of the time.
You may even be able to get a discount for two.
You can only ask.

On the link you posted, the display is a 1920 x 1080 FHD display, not the available (3840 x 2160 UHD version.
The first review describes it as beautiful.
As a strange spec, it lists a "self Healing bios"
No clue what that might be.

The second reviewer had the UHD display which was described as disappointing.
