Hi,
I've been needing a new keyboard for a while now and have been looking EVERYWHERE for different types, styles, key switches etc but I just cant find what I'm looking for.

I have been eyeing up a few keyboards recently (Das Keybard 4 Professional, Ducky Shine 3 and Razer BlackWidow) and the Das Keyboard and Ducky have really interested me. I am a bit hesitant buying a Razer keyboard (even though I have a Razer mouse) because they dont seem as "robust" as others if you know what I mean. I could be completely wrong but that's just how I feel.

I understand that the only real way of knowing what my type is, is if I try the keyboard myself which is what I have been trying but its hard to find people with these keyboards. I definitely know that I dont want a Corsair keyboard (Cherry MX Red)... i just dont like how high the key is. I have also tried a Filco Majestouch 2 (Cherry MX Red) which i like but didnt find the letter prints on the side helpful (i know i cant touchtype... i know im a noob... im learning 😀).

Then there is the problem of choosing Key Switches *sigh*. I've only ever experienced Cherry MX Reds but LOADS of people are telling me to get Cherry MX Browns. Im going to be gaming and programming so I guess I need something in the middle.I dont really care about the sound or backlights either.

So this is basically me asking for some advice about which key switches are better and which keyboards are the best from the above, plus any others you think would suite me.

Thanks

Why don't you order a sampler pack? Several of the keyboard makers offer a pack that comes with a variety of switches, o-rings, and keycaps so you can feel each type. That's what I did.

I ended up ordering from WASD because of the key caps in the end. I order Blue, but I like the clicky sound.
