Need a new motherboard

Hey everyone. I am gaming on an Asus SLI Z97A motherboard. I have an i7 4790k cpu. Asus GTX 1080 card. 750w psu and 16gb ddr3 ram. I bought the motherboard refurbished and I am getting blue screen error when playing games once in a while so I am looking for a new one. I was wondering what would be a good motherboard for my specs and getting the most out of them. Looking for something better than the z97a.

Yes I do. I think it is the motherboard cause i bought it refurbished.

I tried all of that and still same results. I have a choice between another z97-a or a Maximus Hero VI. Money is not a problem. Which would you recommend?

Both are good, for my own build I went the Hero and love it (and I throw a lot at my rigs, am constantly testing other components with them - no problems with any of my Hero builds (have all three models of them in my shop)
