recently bought a Crosshair V formula Z mobo, never realised my PSU would need both a 4Pin and 8 pin ATX, my current PSU doesnt and PC wont boot or even load display,

Need a PSU with at least 800w, at least Bronze efficiency, 1 x ATX 4pin AND 1 x ATX 8 Pin (or its real name), 4 x 6/8 pin Gpu connectors, Modular or Semi Modular

reply if you need any more info

CPU is AMD FX 8350

Solution
You are not required to use the 4 pin also unless you plan on overclocking, and probably to a much higher clock than normal, a FX 8000 or 9000 series CPU. You can use just the 8 pin if you do not plan to overclock a CPU to the extreme.

i do use a FX 8350 though, so would i not need this extra 4 pin?

i dont plan on overclocking at all, but i dont understand, all my cables are in correctly but the computer just wont do anything when i switch it on plus there is no defualt built in Graphics so its not like i can take out my GPU and try it

its only just fresh out of box etc so how do i set it up if there isnt a problem with the PSU?
