Need a quieter PSU

Hi

I have a EVGA 850 G3. There is no doubt it is a great PSU but the fan noise is one of its major weaknesses, I have recently found out this as it has began to get hotter now it's summer and well the fans just go from 0 to 1600rpm and it's makes my silent pc sound like a jet engine. I have a quiet MSI GTX 1080 and a water cooled hexacore CPU with two be-quiet fans.

Are there any PSU's I can get that is just as efficient but silent. If my cooler and GPU can stay quiet under load why can't my PSU as well.

Regards

It sounds like you're just trying to market the PSU he already owns to him. If you look at the Cybenetics noise certification of the EVGA 850 G3, it only has a B rating https://cybenetics.com/index.php?option=database&manfID=36

On the contrary, Corsair RMx have A++ ratings. https://cybenetics.com/index.php?option=database&manfID=28

The EVGA G3 has never been a very quiet PSU, it can get fairly loud. With ambient temperatures of 30-32C, the EVGA G3 noise levels are this:

Under higher ambient temperatures inside a computer case and in the summer, it gets in the mid to high 40s. And that's measured a meter away.

All those units that were reviewed are safe right? i mean reliable even when oced.

Ye i apologise but forgot to mention i disabled my synced core overclock of 4.0GHZ which was stable (volt 1.350) a week ago because i felt i didn't need to push my CPU for now as i won't need the speed (not to mention the CPU cooler is quieter now, it was near inaudible before)

I have just been looking around on the web and it seems the button at the back that allows you to turn the fan off till you need it makes the fan go full speed when it needs to cool but if you turn the feature off the fans stay at a stable speed that is near inaudible. apparently the feature is a bit temperamental on the G3 series.

Try switching it and see if it fixes your noise problem.

i mean all units on that cibenetics website.

It just does efficiency and noise ratings doesn't really say anything else.

Should have specified the P2 lineup.

Shows pretty darn low noise levels, high efficiency.

Don't listen to me though, everyone else here is correct and I don't know anything.
