Need a recommendation for a new MB

OK, sob story, my mainboard died and I need to get a replacement. I'm as
close to broke as you can get without actually being broke, so I need to
transplant my old parts to a new board. I'm thinking that I want an ASUS
board since I have really liked their products in the past. This is what I
have at the moment:

ATI Radeon 9700 Pro
512 MB of PC2100 DDR
80 GB ATA133 HDD
Athlon XP 1600+ (the 266 MHz FSB version)
SBLive! Value (from like 1998!)

At any rate, ideally I would like to buy a system board that will run my
current 266 MHz stuff, and that I could later upgrade to an XP 3000 or 3200
with the 400 MHz FSB. My only question is the memory. Will any of the
current boards allow you to run your memory at 266 MHz with your CPU at 400
MHz, or would I need to get PC3200 memory for that? I was looking at the
ASUS A7V8X-X, but when I checked the manual all it said was to make sure
that the memory and CPU FSB were set to the same speed or "Auto" or else it
wouldn't work.

Any ideas?

Have a look at the Asrock motherboards. They are made by Asus but are a lot
cheaper. I have built 3 systems lately using them and they perform
excellent.

The ASRock K7VM4 sells here in Canada for $75.
US $ will be a lot less.
Here's a link with the specs:

I found a number ASUS boards for about $60 US at NewEgg, they all seem
adequate spec-wise and I don't mind spending that much money. The only
question mark is running the memory asynchronously (at 266 while the CPU FSB
is 400).
