Need s second PC the wife wants me to play games in our bedroom with her sometimes (she's mainly a Ps5/switch player). I have a higher end PC already.

CPU:5950x
GPU:6900xt
MOBO: Dark Hero crosshair
RAM: 64GB DDR4
PSU: 850W
CPU Fan: Lial Li closed waterloop 360mm
OS: WIN 11
CASE: Corsair 1000D (paid 150 usd for it off someone)
Monitor: Alienware unltrawide AW3821DW 3600*1440
I am looking to get the 7950x, 4090, Gigabyte Auros Master, 128GB of DDR5 Ram, and 1200w PSU to place back in the 1000D and put the other system in a HYTE 60 case. Everything will come out to be about 4700 usd with a Ultrawide monitor and keyboard and mouse.

What do you guys think? Should I go for the 7900xt?

I just question the need for 128gb of RAM, a 7950x, and a 1200w PSU if all you do is game. 4090 can be excessive as well if you do not play games that require the horsepower. 32gb of RAM will perform better and cost less than 128gb. A 7950x is the same performance in games as a 7700x, and a 7800X3D is better than both will cost the more than the 7700x and significantly less than 7950x. Only need an 850w-1000w PSU for all those parts anyways.

personally id go a 7800x3d with either a 4080 or 7900xtx ( i swing to the 7900xtx just because usually cheaper and 24gb of Vram ) unless RT is youre thing then go the 4080 ..
unless the 7950x was for a production type work then depending on ratio of gaming to work id still look at a 7900 non x for a new build !!
in actual fact the off set cost maybe of not using a 4090 and a 7950x you could afford to upgrade your current system to a 7700x / 7800x3d with the 6900xt for your wife !!

And still give you a decent main using a 7700x or 7800x3d /maybe even a 7900 non x with 7900xtx or 4080 !!
