Need a suggestion Please help

I'm building my first build and have two question . The first is if i'm using my rig for gaming mostly plus streaming video and skype should I go with 8 gb or 16.. I know 8 would be enough for now but 16 will ensure for the future but add to the cost. second i'm not sure how to tell what brand or model to with I hear good things about several brands one i like is gskill but I don't know how to tell what is what so what should I be looking for when comparing them?

Well what are your specs so we can help you. Video steaming and skype should take up alot of RAM.

I'm looking at buying a amd 8350 with a 990FX MOBO or a I5 3470 with a H77 MOBO . I'm looking at a 7870 or 7950 video card
