Hello guys,
My current system has stopped working after two weeks of use.
It is due to the motherboard, cpu and ram not working with the new GPU i bought the GTX 980 ti, this was reported and tested by Australias MSY.
My current system is as follows
CASE Cooler Master: HAF X
CPU Intel Core i7 3930K
CPU Cooler Intel asetek water cooler
Motherboard GA-X79-UD5
Memory G.Skill Ripjaws 32GB DDR3 (8 x 4GB)
GPU GTX 980 Ti
PowerSupply 850 w
Harddrive 2TB & 1 TB Disk
Operating system Windows 10 Pro
Purpose of the computer:
Now, my main purpose for this system is for Simulation solving, Visual effects (Nuke), unbiased rendering and of course gaming.
What needs upgrading:
Im looking towards only upgrading the Motherboard, CPU, ram and hard drive. Want to have a solid state (under 500gb) and a standard 2.5tb disk
Budget:
1000$ AUD, buying from msy Australia, Adelaide
Overclocking:
Maybe
Notes:
The trouble shooters found out that the 980Ti doesnt work with the system, they tried three other 980tis from other brands in all slots to no solution,
They then tried there stock standard card and the system ran perfectly apart from faulty ram slots that was happening based on a 40% chance of failure, sometimes it worked some times it didnt but 60% of the time it was working.
Given how gray of the fault was and that they didnt charge me the trouble shooting fee lol, they said there best guess is that the motherboard, ddr3 ram and the cpu is simily to old for the graphics card.
Im planning on purchaes the different parts in two weeks once i have gotten a good idea on which parts seem best to replace What are your ideas on which is the best motherboard, cpu and ram?
1150 socket? 8 core cpu?, the default line has to be at at least 6 or more cpu cores and 32 gb ram.
Thanks,
Michael
