Need a water cooler to overclock AMD FX-6300

Solution
At that price, AIO coolers aren't worth it. It's only when you go to £100 that you'll see greater benefits, but even then, the best air coolers (which are also cheaper) still perform very, very well. Also bear in mind that AIO coolers are noisy, and at the end of the day, they still use air.

If you're prepared to spend a little extra, the Noctua NH-D14 is arguably the best air cooler available. Sure, it's been replaced by the NH-D15, but don't expect many tangible gains.

A lot depends on if you have a good 990FX motherboard with 8+2 phase power and nice beefy heatsink on your northbridge and vrm's. Or some crap earlier chipset board with a bolted on bios support for Vishera cpu's.

So is the Noctua better than the Corsair H100i?

I don't think my motherboard could handle 5GHz because it is 970 :p
But I want to get it to at least 4GHz but I also want it to be nice and quiet.
At the moment I have the stock cooler and it is very loud when gaming.
Which one of these would be quieter?
In terms of appearance I really like the H100i, but if the Noctua is quieter and better value for money I would go for that one :D

That's reassuring xD
I saw a few reviews which said it was good, but apart from that I don't know
also it looks great ;)

4 GHz should not be an issue for the board or an even low end cooler like a Hyper 212 EVO.

Yay :) So I didn't waste my money.
Thanks. I will probably go for the D14 I think.
Just to confirm, this is the right one?

Oh that's good :) I will probably still go for the Noctua just because it will probably be quieter.

Thanks for all your help :D

Honestly, not very easy. :) But if your chassis has a backpanel cutout its a lot easier.

Thankyou very much. :D I was very close to buying the Antec watercooler. Very glad I asked here.
Also 1 more question (sorry) How easy is the Noctua to install?

:0 Oh okay. Yeah it does have a cutout. I guess i'll watch a video on YT for help on installation.
Does it have thermal paste pre-applied?
