Need a Windows 8 Installation Disk

My friend recently got a new SSHD for his laptop with only 1 drive bay. The laptop did not come with an installation disk and we need one in order to put this hard drive in. We have tried checking with local computer stores and have had no luck. At this point we are just looking for somewhere to buy the disk, he already has a legal copy of windows 8 and we are reluctant to try downloading it in an ISO file but if anyone could walk us through the steps to do that it would also be greatly appreciated. Ideally we are looking for some way to order a disk from Microsoft directly but any solution would be great.

You should be able to download the ISO disk from Microsoft as long as your friend has their product key: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/upgrade-product-key-only
