Need advice - $600ish Gaming Monitor

Hey guys

Looking for help choosing a monitor for a high end gaming desktop (990 cpu / 2x 580's)

Any help would be appreciated

Looking for some expert opinions on a monitor that will take advantage of this system.
Will be playing anything from strategy to fps games viewed from head on (view from side not important [ips]).
Also need input on what cables will be required.

With your budget, I wouldn't bother looking at a TN-panel 27 inch monitor, but it's not quite enough for a high-end 27 inch monitor like the Dell U2711 ($779 for Canada from their website). If that one is too expensive, I'd suggest the Dell U2410 ($549).

In "Best Graphics Cards For the Money: March 2011", a single 580 is described as having "Great 2560x1600 performance", so running two of them in SLI would probably be wasted if your monitor only supported 1920x1080. The U2711 has 2560x1440. That resolution is only supported over DisplayPort and Dual-Link DVI, and I think the monitor comes with cables for both, so you can connect either one, depending on the outputs of your video card.
