Doubt you will see much performance increase for the money, all depends what games you play to be fair if you are looking for single core performance the AMD will make more sense, the 5000 series tho, the 3000 series if you get a ryzen 9 are great for workstations, editing videos, multicore scores hold up to the 5000 series but the single core isnt gonna be worth it for the 3000 imo. Intels gonna be coming out with the PCIE4 bits by the end of Q1 2021 if you can wait everythings gonna only get cheaper. Someone leaked info about AMD's next core architecture, if they can do over 5ghz keeping up the IPC count then they will be putting everything to shame, even the 5000 series. I'd wait, but then im still sat here using a 4440 and GTX970
my pc is a gaming and media centre and it still does me well
