Hello,

First of all, I'm not able to find a suitable category for this topic here, so moderators can move this post to a better category if needed.

I recently bought xbox one x almost a week ago and I'm curious about one thing, I plan to keep the xbox in its bag, so I can take it with me and play it with my friends in their home as well.

My main concern is the HDMI out port through which we connect it with the TV (I've bad experience with my previous laptop's HDMI port :p ). So is it capable of being connected and disconnected again and again? Or will there be issue due to wear and tear.

So should I keep it connected with TV or feel free to connect and disconnect as much as needed? (With care of course)

Your advice will be appreciated.

Personally, I wouldn't be concerned. Almost all modern, common ports are designed for many removals and insertions. If, however, you still are:

Depending on how you can pack it, have you considered using a port-saver? Basically, it's just a male->female HDMI that stays in the device on a more or less permanent basis, and then any "port wear" is on the female hdmi for this cheap device over the integrated one on your xbone.

I'm not 100% sure on the construction of the xbox one, but perhaps one of these would work? They appear to be quite stubby, so it's unlikely they'll catch in a bag or w/e. Mostly, check the orientation of the port vs. the thing linked here.

270-degree, slightly bigger ($1.00 CAD)

90-degree flat, very compact ($1.42 CAD)

Or you could go for a cable variety, perhaps.
2pcs MF 90-deg HDMI ($4.39 CAD)

Solution
The typical HDMI jack is rated for 10,000 insert/remove cycles which is twice as durable as the typical USB jack, so I wouldn't worry about it. Like with USB, the cables will wear out first, if you are careful with it.

Of course very strong sideways loads can break it right away, and for that application it's probably safer to use a non-latching cable so at least it can fall out if someone trips over the cable!
