I have a Pavilion e9290f (circa 2009/2010) http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/kb/docDisplay/?sp4ts.oid=3999455&spf_p.tpst=kbDocDisplay&spf_p.prp_kbDocDisplay=wsrp-navigationalState%3DdocId%253Demr_na-c01901297-25%257CdocLocale%253D%257CcalledBy%253D&javax.portlet.begCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken I've since upgraded it to 24GB RAM. Ideally I want game at 1920x1200, the native resolution of monitor. The Pavilion came with a NVIDIA GTX 260 but it's not really fast enough for some stuff I've been playing lately e.g. Crysis/Miasmata, ARMA II/DayZ are all sluggish. The GTX 260 barely meets the specs for Skyrim and is not even close for Dishonored which I also want to play.

I realize the rest of the system is a bit old and don't want to end up overkilling it. I'd like to get your thoughts on the most reasonable upgrade that makes sense for such a system. Budget is up to $400 and I would rather not SLI as there's not much room in there. I'm open to NVIDIA/ATI/AMD.
