I'm going to cannabilize my 4 yr old gaming rig to build a new one and I'd like to salvage what I can for now to save $ -- trying to stay around or under $600 (can go to $700 if necessary). Used primarily for games like GW2 and Planetside 2 plus streaming movies. I'm not too concerned about the case or optical drives but need advice on re-using psu and hdd.

The psu is a Cooler Master 850W unit -- RS-850-emba that is 80+ certified.
The HDD is a 320GB Western Digital.

I've had no problems with either and I'll be upgrading the HDD later this year if I don't do it now with the new build.

Any problems re-using those two items?

I'm thinking about the following build -- feedback welcome

CPU Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core ($189.99 microcenter)
Motherboard ASRock Z75 Pro3 ATX LGA1155 ($84.99 Amazon)
Memory G.Skill Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 ($40.93 NCIX US)
Video Card Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB ($194.99 Newegg)

Also, if I'm not currently planning on over-clocking then I think the stock cpu fan should be fine -- is that right?

Thanks for your input

if you dont plan to overclock, the stock cooler is fine (im doing the exact same and my cpu only runs at 41C with an ambient of about 27C)
a 60GB SSD would be worth the money as well, use it as a boot drive, and store games on the HDD
