Hi everyone,
I would like to know which components I should buy to build a gaming computer.

I was thinking of a desktop that would be able to run emulation programs (ps2 emulators, gamecube, etc.) in high settings and run modern games (like skyrim) in high settings to.

I was thinking of a Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor and a GeForce GTX 750 TI and windows 8.1

I don't know any other components, but I would like at least 8GB of RAM, 500GB of disk space and a disc drive.

I can't spend more than 850€.

Thanks in advance,
LeaoLouro

Solution

Hi there.
Thank you for the quick answer. This does indeed help me very much.
This is a very good computer, however this exceeds my budge because 756£ = 960 €. Nevertheless, thank you. I may still think of acquiring this machine.

Sorry, I always mix up pounds and euros:)
You can get a lower end GPU, perhaps a R9 280.

Not really on a build like this where the game performance is GPU limited. A stock i5 vs a locked i5 will give no real difference in game performance here.

An overclocked i5 with a 280 vs a locked i5 with a 970. There will be no contest at all. the 970 and locked i5 will stomp all over the other setup no matter how heavily you overclock.

This is just a fact.
