I need help to pick part upgrade my old pc. My budget is round 500$
I'm usually play game on Steam like, The Witcher 3, Shadow of Tomb Rider, RDR2.
And do some coding, virtual machine to test environment etc..

This is my current spec
CPU: I7-3770
MB: Asus P8Z77-V LX
GPU: RX-5700 XT
PSU: Tt 650w (2 years old)
RAM: DDR3 4*4

I have my eyes on Intel gen 10. That's because I7-3770 is still kicking, never have a problem with this CPU.
Its just old and bottleneck my GPU, and very slow when I compile some of my coding. So it's time to go. ( I guess ).

And AMD is still.. something that I can't look into, its price and performance, not bad at all. but I have TUF 505DU that have Ryzen 3750H.
It's quite bad for work, because whenever I use VM, I had to enable VM mode and this laptop gone mad.
Laggy, I couldn't even coding properly or do some test on VM. (Maybe, I did it wrong).

So what should I get that suit my needs and my budget. :(
I'm so lost, please guide me.

Thank you guys so much, and I'm so sorry about my English.

At $500, you would basically be looking at a i5 10400(locked so no overclocking), the cheapest z490 motherboard ~$150, an aftermarket cooler, and a set of 2x8gb ddr4 3200 ram. Ideally you would want a 10600k, but that's an additional $100 and is around the same price of a ryzen 3700x.

Where are you located so we can make an accurate assessment.

BTW, the 3750h is based on the 2000 series and is markedly slower then the actual 3000 series(4000 for mobile) cuz marketing lol.

Also, thermaltake is generally a poor psu brand with only a couple decent models, which model do you have?

THERMALTAKE 650W SMART MODULAR (80+ BRONZE)

I got a lot of recommendations to change my PSU as soon as I'm available. I think it have to change too. But 500$ won't make a cut right? PSU can hold on for now tho.

Because RAM and MB is needed.

Yeah, i was so mad. I thought R7 3750h is 3000 series base on desktop CPU.
