I'm using Netgear C3700 at home for both Wif and Modem.
Yesterday I bought WD My Cloud (personal network drive) and mapped it to my PC. I tried to transfer a file 4Gb the PC to the network drive. The transfer rate seems slow (~10Mbs).
I did a research with Google. Some people said a Gigabit Switch is required to boost the transfer rate to 50Mbs to 100Mbs.
I'm wondering which is the best solution here: Switch, or a Gigabit Router , Gigabit Modem-Router?
I think investing in a good gigabit modem router, I can have the maximum "in-network" transfer speed and "less wires".
If I go with a Switch, I can only transfer in maxmimum speed when the devices hooked up directly to the switch (not wireless).
If I go with a Gibabit router, I'm not sure if it's a waste because I don't know if I can reach the maxmimum speed with wireless network.
If possible, please leave a link of the device I should go with.
