Question Need advice for computer upgrade (2 Options)

My first post so please be kind. I will try to cover all the needed info so you can help me make a good choice.
OK, I have 2 older systems that are still good. I have a Dell XPS 8300 and an Intel NUC Skull Canyon. Here are the basic specs of each:
DELL XPS 8300
Intel Core i5-2400
6GB RAM 1333, 2x2GB and 2x1GB
460W PS
Radeon HD 5700 GPU
1TB 7200rpm drive
Win 10 22H2

INTEL NUC Skull Canyon
Intel Core i7-6770HQ
16GB RAM 1x16GB
256GB NvME
IRIS graphics
Win 10 22H2

Neither system will run Win11.

So, as you can see, they are both older but both work perfect still. What I would like to do is play CoD Warfare Warzone multiplayer through the XBox online portal. I would like to do a small inexpensive upgrade to one of them so I can play that game online with my nephews. I am wondering what folks here recommend I do and with which system? I do have an XBOX One that I could play it on, no problem, but I can't stand the controller thing. I would rather play on keyboard and mouse.

I was considering maybe getting an external GPU for the NUC and play using it. Or maybe I should upgrade the DELL with a newer GPU, 16GB RAM, and an SSD drive and call it good. Don't get me wrong. I can easily afford an entirely new top-shelf gaming rig and start having fun. I just don't want to spend more than I need to in case theirs or my interest in this dies if you know what I mean.

What would your recommendations be? Looking for specifics like which GPU or how much RAM, etc. And if it would be a complete waste to upgrade either system, please don't be afraid to say it.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

The logical option would be to get an external GPU dock/GPU and tether it to the Thunderbolt 3 port on your NUC.

IMHO, Windows 10 runs out of support toward the end of this year, I'd opt for a build with concurrent parts and call it a day. This way you're not confined to one title/option.

I wouldn't touch the XPS prebuilt unless to do some sort of restomod for posterity's sake.

Neither system will run Win11.

I have Dell 8300 pushed to 32 GB memory and a Nvidia 1070 running windows 11 since 2021 with Rufus.

You could save yourself the money and just plug a mouse and keyboard into the Xbox. Warzone is one of the games that supports it.
