[SOLVED] Need advice for Gaming PC Build under $1000

Hello everyone. Not sure if this is the right thread but im looking upgrade my current PC any input will be greatly appreciated. Im trying to keep the cost at under $1000. I plan to use it as a gaming PC but not so much, not sure if that makes any sense lol.

1. ASRock Z77 Extreme4-M LGA 1155 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard.
2. Corsair TX650 PSU
3. Intell Core i5-2500 Sandy Bridge CPU
4. 4 Corsair Vengeance 16gig DDR3 Ram
5. Corsair Carbide Series 100R Silent Edition Case (new)
6. Would love to continue using my old Hard drive WD 1003FZEX

My monitor is a Samsung SyncMaster 216bw
Im happy with my monitor but dont mind upgrading since its old

According to how old and given current market conditions I would stick with your PSU, if possible. I see it is a model currently for sale. Your case is new, so keep that.

You need a motherboard, CPU, RAM, SSD/M.2, and a GPU. I would focus on 1080P gaming, personally and think you could build a quite impressive system around a 1660 level or maybe a new RX5xxx series. My go to recommends would be along the line of R5 3600, B450 Tomahawk Max, G Skill Ripjaws, nice M.2 NVME...should put you right on top of your pricing.
I would repurpose the HDD as your game storage.

I would stick to this build. You can still use your old psu the tx650 because that is a good psu if you have taken care of it. So with the money of psu saved, get yourself a pair of 3200mhz ddr4 ram instead of the 3000mhz in that list. Also, you dont need that ssd because that is just unnecessary. You can go with crucial nvme ssds or sandisk sata ssd because since you're gaming, you need space. yes ssd are fast but only for loading screens. Performance diff between hdd and ssd are the same. Save yourself the money of ssd and get yourself a 2tb hdd. So you will have a cheaper ssd for operating system and hdd for games because games are huge nowadays.

This is Excellent Advice, started a new build and literally only difference is since the AMD XT's dropped I'll be going with Ryzen 3700x instead of the 3600x, as far as GPU, Sapphire 5600XT Pulse is Great I Purchased one for Wifes PC and it is Excellent for 1080 Gaming.

The above builds are good, but I also recommend spending the few extra $ for the 3200 or higher speed RAM. If it were Intel it wouldn't matter as much. 'zen loves FAST RAM.

Hey I just Bought the 3700x today(Along with a 4 pack of Corsair Vengeance 3200), the Price drop from the XT release, you should keep the Tomahawk Max, but spring for the 3600X and from the research I've done on the Ram end better to have 32gb(4x8gb) of @least 3200 than 32gb (2x16gb)
