Dear community members, I'am looking for your advice on a futher upgrade of my computer.
I ve a some parts in the back of my mind but iam not suggesting any because i want to know your preferences and why.
Keep in mind this a pure gaming computer and money isn't really an issue but i still want the best value for my money.

My current specs :

mobo: asus p8 z68-V GEN3
cpu: intel i5 2500k 3.3ghz
ram: 8gb corsair vengeance 1333mhz
gpu: evga gtx 580 SLI
psu: evga 1300W g2 gold

sdd/hdd/case and peripherals aren't really relevant since iam not going to upgrade them.

Now the things iam looking for :

mobo: probably need a new one to prevent bottlenecking.
cpu: new generation i7 with overclocking in mind.

--> iff iam correct you re better of with an i7 then i5 if you want to go SLI.

ram: 16 gb ddr4.
gpu: gtx 980 ti SLI (let the brand war begin) iff its all the same ill take the one from evga(habit) but iff more people suggest that i should take the msi.. well then ill change.

monitor: need a new screen, one that will melt my eyes away !! with this new setup in mind, should i go for a 4k screen or 1440p ? this part is probably going to be the hardest one to decide (for me)

Please share your wisdom and ideas thanks in advance !

Solution
You can sli with a I5 just fine infact you don't really see a lot of gains in gaming with a i7 yes the cpu is faster but the I5 is ideal for gaming I7 for recording codeing and vidieo and such.
If you have no budget meaning you have money to spend then why not the I7 bUT if you have limit funds the I5 4690 k The 6600k is going to cost more you have to buy a heatsink fan for it 6700 will cost more same as other and the I7 are around 100 more then all of them. When you use the skylake cpus you will have to buy a newer more expensive board and ram as well... As a lot of others would say the I5 4690k is your best choice in value and performance and belive me its not lacking in any areas...
