Need advice, LCD or LED?

3 months ago I bought a 21'5 samsung LCD, and it's showing a bright white light at the top right corner.
So, I'm going to get a refund, and need advice on what to buy next.

I know the basics of LCD and LED, but I would appreciate if someone that has had both can make some comment's about the two of them.

"LED" monitors are LCD monitors with LED backlight instead of using traditional florescent backlight.
