I'm buying a new 19inch lcd and am a bit torn between these three:

va912b
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...N82E16824116353

vx924
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...N82E16824116355

samsung 940b
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...N82E16824001066

The 940B seemed like the overall best monitor, but the reviews complain about a poor vertical viewing angle (despite the 160degree spec), which turns me away because I'm going to use the monitor for watching tv quite a bit and won't always be sitting at the perfect angle.

The vx924 is supposed to be great, but it almost seems like overkill since I'm not a hardcore FPS gamer, so maybe the va912b would be good enough. Having the extra $50 in my pocket would be nice, but I don't want to sacrifice any significant quality.

Any comments, personal experience, advice, etc?
Thanks

i am in the same situation. i actually bought the viewsonic 912b and returned it coz i didnt like it. didnt seem that great and the speakers made it bulky and ugly. i just bought a dell ultrasharp 19 inch cause i heard dell makes the best LCDs. so if u didnt already buy one , u should get the dell one me thinks. plus it comes with a 3 year warranty and theres a coupon on dells site for 20 bucks off. but if anyone else knows a good gaming LCD monitor please post

you should read this:
http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/03/27/the_spring_2006_lcd_collection/

If I were buying a new monitior right now, I'd buy either a Viewsonic VX922, or a Viewsonic 930b.

For reference, this time last year, Anandtech was reccommending the Dell UltraSharp 1905FP or Samsung 193P, and Toms was recommending the Viewsonic VP191b.

If I'm not mistaken, I thought the VX924 was an overdrive whore / good on paper but total garbage in practice. I don't have the articles on hand though.

my dell 19" lcd just came. get it its the best one. its got build in 4 USB 2 ports, normal view or you can turn it 90 degrees, and DVI and D-sub cables included. plus its awesome
