Hello guys,
I have done quite a bit of research into building my first PC setup and feel I have reached the best solution for me. However I am new to this and would like some advice towards the parts I have picked and any alternative parts I should consider. Currently the build is going to cost around £650, I originally set myself a strict budget of £600 but have had to consider stretching it up to £700; so I am not really willing to spend that much more unless it is a significant upgrade.
Approximate Purchase Date: Within the next few days, at the very latest I would like the setup to be complete by the 26th September 2011.
Budget Range: £600 - £700.
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, Website building, 3D Modelling/Rendering, video editing.
Parts Not Required: Keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Scan.co.uk, Dabs.com. I am open to others though.
Country of Origin: England
Parts Preferences: Currently being swayed towards AMD because of the free game offered and cheaper than Intel.
Overclocking: Maybe
SLI or Crossfire: Maybe
Monitor Resolution: 1600x1200 currently but would like to upgrade in the future
Additional Comments: I am being drawn towards having some kind of LED lighting, and the system being as quiet and cool as possible. I am willing to pay more for an interesting looking case.
Parts
Case: Coolermaster HAF 922 - http://www.scan.co.uk/products/cool...k-mid-tower-case-with-20cm-silent-fan-w-o-psu
CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1100T 3.3GHz - http://www.dabs.com/products/amd-phenom-ii-x6-1100t-3-3ghz-black-edition-125w-9mb-78XC.html
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 - http://www.dabs.com/products/corsair-vengeance-8gb--2x4gb--ddr3-1600mhz-cl9-xmp-79V4.html
Graphics Card: Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 6870 900MHz 1GB - http://www.dabs.com/products/sapphi...-1gb-pci-express-dvi-hdmi---2-x-mdp-7G0M.html (Currently seems to be unavailable at this store though.)
Motherboard: Asus M4A88TD-V - http://www.dabs.com/products/asus-m...-usb3---sata6--atx-6ZF6.html?q=ASUS M4A88TD-V (Also appears unavailable at the moment.)
Power Supply: Corsair Memory TX750 - http://www.dabs.com/products/corsai...atx-enthusiast-series-7CHC.html?refs=55430000
Hard Drive: Samsung 1TB Spinpoint 7200rpm - http://www.dabs.com/products/samsun...l?q=SAMSUNG+Spinpoint+F3+HD103SJ+1TB+7200+RPM
Optical Drive: http://www.dabs.com/products/best-value-liteon-24x-int--dvdrw-black-sata---s-w-6M84.html
I would like to know if everything is compatible? How well will it run? How long will it last for gaming before I need to consider an upgrade?
Other concerns are two of the products appear to be currently unavailable(Graphics card and motherboard), so are there any suggestions for a cheaper or same price alternative?
Also regarding the graphics card I am unsure on what is the best 6870 model, currently I have chosen a Sapphire one, but there are others available now for the same price from makers such as XFX, Asus and MSI.
Also I have been told by a friend that the onboard sound and network cards are good enough with this motherboard, although I may purchase them in the future. Also the heatsink that comes with the CPU is good enough so I don't need to buy a separate one for that, although he did say it would not hurt to buy one.
As mentioned earlier I would like the option of adding a second graphics card at some point and doing some overclocking.
That's about it, any help is greatly appreciated. Thank You for your time.
