Hey all,
So my budget is 200-250$$
I need a CPU, Motherboard, Ram, and a HD atleast 150+gigs
i already ahve a GPU, ATI 1950GT 512mb

So wondering what processor i should go with? Intel dual core, amd dual core, amd tri core? amd dual core to unlock more cores?

I plan to play all of the following on the new computer. World of warcraft, itunes, vent, Mozilla firefox, and msn messenger. Right now my single core sempron is barely keeping up plz pick a processor that will fit the bill

Plz build something on newegg to fulfill what i need Thank you very much

I don't have much experience when it comes to building PCs, but I heard that if you are purchasing a cheaper computer, it's actually cheaper to purchase one already put together, like a Dell or Compaq or something. It's only when it gets more expensive when it's actually an advantage to build your own pc. Just what I heard though.

well a new computer isn't what i need, i have everything but the mobo cpu and ram, i coudl bare the HD i have now but don't want to so 200 i will have a fast computer if you can show me a hp or dell that is anywhere close to 4gigs and a dual core for that much be my guest but ty

That budget is very low, and that gpu isd very old, though enough for WoW, but it will be using a lot of power for nothing. On that budget, your other components will certainly match your gpu.

You can get an E5200 for about $65.

That is about 210, they are actually not bad components by any means. You even have a bit more room to improve. You could consider going for 4gb of ram instead of 2, as well as a bigger hardrive. Also, there are cheaper boards you can get... take a look at some of intel's g41,43,45 chipsets... you may be able to find a nice board for about $60 or so.

If i were you however, and i could spend a bit more, 4gb would be first priority, followed by the bigger drive, but that depends one how much you actually want more storage. For me, i would stick with the p43 board, since the intel G's will have onboard graphics that i will not be using, not to mention they are not as high quality as the p43's.

Here is an AM3 build from AMD . It ises the latest DDR3 technology and should be upgradeable . It should be better than the intel build based on these charts which include an e6300 .

The e6300 is a fair bit quicker than a stock e5200 or e5300 and the AMD chip looks to be about 10% faster again
